12 DRESSES OF CHRISTMAS LOOK 12 NEW YEARS SHINE

On the 12th day of Christmas my Fashion Fairy gave to me.....

My New Years Eve Outfit

We are a few hours away from 2018 and what a year it was.  I like to say 2017 was the year of change.  I saw so many people in my life change something in their life.  From babies, to jobs, to engagements I saw so much growth in 2017.  Lets hope it Keep it going for 2018 right?

For this outfit I decided to go with pink and green.  I love pink so want to wear it for the New Year and green is a lucky color to wear on new years so thought this sequins green would be great way to wear this lucky color.

I fell in love with the coat the moment I saw at Simply Be Holiday Party.  I love how fluffy and warm it is.  I just had to have it!!!! Plus I will definitely come in handy tonight with the temperature being so cold.  It is like the most fashionable throw cover and it was so so hard to take off.

The thing I loved about this skirt was its ability to become black and the sequins changed color.  So if you see a black sequins skirt you know what happened. (#swipeleft) lol

2017 was a great year for me and I cant not be more happy with the results.  I gain some new friends, old friendships were tested, hosted some online stuff, had a campaign or two, gained a masters degree, gained a new job, grew my network and so many more goals were accomplished I cant name them all (I REALLY CAN'T).
I am truly excited for 2018 and cant wait for you all to join me in 2018!!!

HAPPY NEW YEARS STYLISTAS!!!

Oh almost forgot...

12 DRESSES OF CHRISTMAS LOOK 4: BLACK & GOLD W. TRACY ELLIS ROSS COLLECTION

ON THE 4TH DAY OF CHRISTMAS MY FASHION FAIRY GAVE TO ME...
.
BLACK JUMPSUIT & GOLD QUILTED JACKET

Nothing says holiday like Black and Gold together.  This year I paired my my gold quilted jacket with the new Tracy Ellis Ross Jumper from J.C. Penny.
This jumper is strapless and very roomy.  It moves a lot and works well for my height.  Also I love how roomy it was.  It gave me the ability to show off what I like and hide what I didn't.

I paired the jumper with black and gold jewelry and a very red holiday lipstick. Also, my white and gold clutch from two seasons ago has made a comeback this year.

This is one of the easiest outfits I have every put together and the most fun. Thank you to JC Penny and Traci Ellis Ross for creating this fabulous collection

BIRDS AND BLOGGERS: MEET TWO NEW FRIENDS

My first new friend I picked up while I was in DC a few months back, at the Eloquii Popup Shop. I had such a great shopping experience that I made a video. of my try on experience in store (click here to see video).
This birds and stripe full skirt was one of my many reason for venturing out to the store.  I was so happy to get this bird print skirt as I was eye balling it for sometime and it scratched my bold print itch for the spring.

I love bold prints!!! They give a pop of different in a very same and drab fashion you see on the street everyday.
Yes you have to be a certain kind of person to wear this skirt...I am that person.  Bold, daring and fun.  Plus....THEY"RE BIRDS!!!! Who doesn't like birds

I added the Eloquii silver studs lapel shirt with a skinny belt.  A few small accessories and that was it.  I just let the skirt rock!!! No need to over accessories, except for the shades.
The shades I also picked up from Eloquii pop up shop.  They w fit my face perfect.  The fit is so good I may have to get a few more.  All my stylistas with a wide face knows how hard it is to get glasses that work with our faces.  Thanks again to Eloquii for looking out for us.

My second friend is an actual person.  lol

I got a chance to speak to another blogger Mr. E.  His blog, My2x4closet, is a peak into lifestyle and style of a millennial trying to make in in these NYC small apartments.   He is just starting out in the blogging word (how cute!!!) and  we chatted for a bit about blogging as a business vs a hobby.
I love how new he was to blogging and how much fun I could see he was having.  It was refreshing to talk to someone blogging from menswear suppose to plus size blogging.  At the end I found out, the grind is not as different as I thought. Don't be surprise to see more of Mr. E  on N.E.C. Style.

JIBRI SPRING 2017 COLLECTION

Black and White Stripes, paired with a hot pink high wasted dress pants was the first thing I saw from one of my favorite designer JIBRI.  You guys know I have a small obsession with this indie designer but she has really out done the collection. From bold to graphic I couldn't contain my happiness.  See what items from the collection I cant get enough of (and neither will you)

Wide cut pants, Jumpers, and high cut dress paints were all designs signature to JIBRI featured in this collection.

Prints are bold and in your face.

The color pallet screamed spring with blue, pink and yellow.

The graphic black and white prints are classics to be worn year after year

As a nod to the "bare shoulder" trend of spring, JIBRI has a few  off the shoulder prints tops that can be worn under a suit jacket.  (but, I don't think you will)

Overall, JIBRI spring 2017 collection was great.  I just cant wait to see what's to come for Summer cover-ups....maybe swimsuits....lets wait and see.

All items are available today.

TRIBUTE TO FASHION ICON MICHELLE OBAMA...

With less than 10 days until the Obama Family leave the White House and we crawl into our beds crying wondering what we did wrong to end this relationship (lol), I wanted to look back on some better times.

From the first time I saw Michelle I fell in love with her style.  Maybe it was our similar love for sleeveless fit and flare dresses, her serious yet quite demeanor or her need to smile when it was time to smile and not because the public said "you should smile more".  Her personally was like gravity and her style was like silk to me.  Strong, soft, flowing, non conforming and unmatched to any other.  The more I saw her the more I wanted to see her.

Over the last 8 years her style grows, changes and matures as her children and husband has changed.    She wore all of my my favorite designers and open my eyes to a few new ones as well.
To show how much I love Mrs. Obama style, I wanted to show my top 10 FLOTUS looks from the last 8 years.

1. Isabella Toledo on Obama 2008 inaugural walk through Washington
The fact that she chose Toledo on such a special day let me know I had found my new fashion Icon

2. Christian Siriano @ The Democratic Convention

3. Missonni in Milan

4. Tom Ford

5. Jason Wu (this is now apart of a museum collection....a MUSEUM people!!!)

6.Thome Browne (you know I screamed when I saw her wearing Thome)

7. Naeem Khan

 8. Jason Wu (again)

9. Kenzo (Can we all look so polish & amazing stepping off a plane)

10. Versace
(The president said to her "They not looking at me" #damerightobama)

First Ladies of the past were known to wear one designer over and over again.  FLOTUS Michelle changed the fashion of first ladies by doing the exact opposite. Mrs. Obama ambition to feature American fashion designer or young and upcoming designers was not lost to me. She mixed high end designers with off the rack. She wore sneakers, jeans and shorts, which was something never seen before.  She was colorful, polish, and bold.  All the making of a style icon.

I will miss Michelle representing the US as our first lady but I know there is more style to come.

12 DRESSES OF CHRISTMAS NO 12: BLACK & GOLD HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

On the 12 (and last) day of Christmas my Fashion Fairy gave to me....
Eloquii Black and Gold Suit

The New Year Collection (and 12 Dress countdown) ends with this gold & black printed suit from Eloquii.
From the first time I put on the jacket I was in love.  I held it as my last outfit because nothing screams New Year like a black and gold suit.

These Brooklyn Streets Not Ready For This!!!

Some will say that matching suit is too much but not for this Stylista!!!!
I feel if your going to stand out it might as well be in the best way possible.

I completed the suit with a white button down, black and white pumps, gold accessories and black/gold clutch.

To all my stylista I just wanted to end with saying Happy New Year!!! I hope to see you all next year and that we keep growing together.  I thank all of you who have been with me from the beginning and the stylistas who found me this year.  My New Year resolution is to keep bring the best I can to NEC STYLE .  NEC Style is my fashion blog but I do it to show that women of the 22+ size can and ARE stylish.  I resolve to bring you guys more and more and keep the love and positivity flowing.  I want to bring more products, makeup, fashion and brands that sizes for the plus size women.
I pray that I can bring this and much more to you all for 2017!!! God Bless you all and...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
