BEST OF MET GALA 2018

It's the first week of May so you know that that means....its time for The MET Gala.  I wait all year for the best, most fascinating red carpet event of the year.  As a fashion history enthusiast, this is a religious event and this year I mean that quite literally.  The theme of the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Exhibit  is called "Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination".

This exhibition shows how Catholicism, Vatican and the Pope have influence fashion throughout the years.  The exhibit is made up of 150 garments with 50 of those garments and accessories loaned from the Vatican.  Needless to say, the Vatican had put its stamp of approval on this exhibit.  Other designers next to these Vatican loans are Versace, Gabanna, Chanel and Valentino.

But enough about the exhibit.  Lets get down to what all of you are waiting for....THE FASHION!!!!

Here are the celebrities that took the "crown" of the MET Gala.

Lets not count them men out.  They bought fashionable menswear to the Gala as well.

Here are a few honorable mentions. These looks were beautiful, just not MET Gala beautiful.

I LIVE for the MET Gala and can not wait for 2019!

BLOGGER NYC STAY-CATION: GIRLS TRIP DAY 1

As a native New Yorker, I realized I don't get to enjoy all things the city has to offer.  I was inspired by the movie "Girls Trip" to take advantage of my city and create a Stay-cation for me and a few of my girlfriends.  Like the movie, I wanted to hang out with some girlfriends leave the drama behind and have a good time.  As bloggers, we all get so busy so it was nice to take some time to just relax. With Marlena-
Big City, Curvy Girl, Thin Wallet, Brooke-Madame Finehouse, Fabiola-Fabiola Michelle, Jonquel-Jonquel Art and Marcy-Fearlessly Just Me with myself, we set off to our
first ever Stay-cation weekend.

Our first day was all about GIRL POWER.  We started our stay-cation with a Private Museum Tour at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  Courtesy of Museum Hack we took the BABS
(Bad Ass Bitches) tour to see women artist featured at the Met. Here are some pics of women of the the MET.

What they were looking at I still don't know!!!

Thanks to our tour guide for being kick ass and for free ice cream
Museum Hack offers tours of other Musums and tours as well.  I will be doing their Beta Tour soon.  Click HERE to find our own tour.

After we had a quick snack we heading downtown to watch "Girls Trip" at the IPIC movie theater for dinner and a movie.  I was so relax I almost fell asleep!!! Guess that's what large reclining seats will do for you.

Side Question:  Wanna guess which character I am?  Go on. I wont be offended.

Great movie, great drinks and great food is all I needed to end my day. It was too much fun learning and connecting more with these amazing women but the next day was even more fun!!!

Ready for another fun filled Day??? Stay tuned....

ITS MY BORN DAY-HOW I DID IT UP!!!!

HEY STYLISTAS!!!

Today is my 37th birthday and yes I am one year closer to my big 4-0 but unlike most I have no fear or dread. With age comes wisdom and I've enjoyed every bit of my 30ths and will continue to enjoying them.

I have done more and overcome more fears this year then ever before so look forward to what the second 1/2 of this amazing year brings to me.

I'm an introvert so planned most of my birthday activities for myself.  I have NO interest in crowds and hate planning things.  At the last min I invited my friends into my solo birthday adventures.

For the first time EVER im sharing my birthday on the blog.  Yes I've had the blog for YEARS but never really shared my personal life. But 2016 means change so here you go....

1. Breakfast in Bed...
NO I DON'T LIKE HORSES JUST SO HAPPEN THE PLACMENT LOOK LIKE IT.  LOL

My minime loves to cook so breakfast in bed is usually the start to my birthday.  Wheat pancakes and fresh strawberries was a great way to wake up.

2. Get Dresses
Like the dress? Buy dress HERE

Something old something new something borrowed....not blue.  Thanks to Lane Bryant for my birthday dress.  What a fun artistic print.

3. Get some culture

I like to take a trip to a theater, museum or music event because I love creativity.  This year the MET is my bit of culture.

Being in Fashion, of course I wanted to see the "Manus-Machina" Exhibit.  Here are a few pictures.
Chanel Dress at entrance is breath taking

My bff had the day off so she joined me in the city for my birthday!!!! YAY

This is so her!!! lol

4. Dinner

I try a new restaurant each year.  This year was Sarabeth's Tribeca.  If you haven't tried it yet please do.  Fresh from the farm ingredients and not over priced like its other area restaurants.  I had Italian kale and meatballs with 4 fries from my friends plate (my birthday treat to myself).  It was fantastic!!!

5. Realize your dream

Blogging is not all I want to do.  So to keep my dreams in front of me I attend or do something to keep my eye on my dream.  One thing I would like to do is have a fashion pod cast.  I went to the live taping of one of my fave pod cast "Brilliant Idiots LIVE" with radio personality Charlemagne the God and Andrew Sholz.

Yes I tried the pod cast life and it didn't work out before I felt I even started so for now I study the well established.  Going to see this was not only entertaining but showed me some tips and tricks.

What an amazing day I had.  Thanks also to my friends for joining me.  Also thanks to all my stylista's and friend for every message, phone call, cake emoji  and IG message sent.  I cant reply to them all but trust and believe I saw them all.
