FINDING ASHLEY 2018 BASH IN BROOKLYN

On September 15th at the Brooklyn Kings Theatre, comedian, actress and Emmy Award-winning host of "The Real" Loni Love hosted Ashley Stewart Finding Ashley Finale.
This is the second year the plus size store has held this event commencing their country wide search for their representative of their company.

The event featured performances by  Naughty by Nature, SWVMC Lyte,  Denise "Saucy Wow" Belfon.,  We cant forget about DJ Kid Capri keeping us dancing and grooving all night long.  I got a chance to be in the media pit with the likes of Plus Model Magazine, Queen Size Magazine as well as other bloggers and Influencers.

It was a start studded night that I started off on the pink carpet.  I got a chance to talk to some of the judges, host, celebrities and guess of Ashley Stewart event.

In its second year, this was the first year I got to photograph and interview and truthfully, being in the press pit acts up my social anxitey to the 10th power.  But this was one of the most chill press pits I've been in.  Here are some photos of host and events going on outside the event.

Here are some of my best looks from the finalist.  The best is that all these looks are available at Ashley Sewarts today

After getting a chance to meet with and photograph some of the attendees and special guess we moved inside to have some fun and meet with some of the finalist for this event.

We then headed inside to party

What really was amazing was all the money Ashley Stewarts donated to several charities.  They even gave some Brooklyn HS students money for College.  Y'all know a great education is very close to my heart so I love that they are looking out for the young women and men in our community.

In the end, we all came to see who was Miss Ashley Stewart 2018.  Congratulations to Tiffany Flamer for winning this year crown.  I honestly couldn't think of anyone who deserves it more.  Not only is she a school teacher but she organized for her town of Chester to come out and support her.  To see that kind of support you know she has done alot for her community if they love her that much.

The event ended with Author and Keynote speaker Sahar Paz.  Can I just say that she gave me multiple chills.  Her story was real and her words was even better.

In the end the event sparked a lot of ideas and conversations that need to continue in not only the plus community but in women community in general.  The great thing is that this conversation doesn't end here.  Darlene along with Sahar will continue the discussion in March 2017 with the Redefining Healthy Workshop.

MEMORIAL DAY BLOGGER TAKE OVER! INTRODUCING TAMARAH BROWN OF "MY OWN SENSE OF FASHION"

HELLO STYLISTAS!!!
Happy Memorial Day everyone.  While I'm Barbequing and enjoying my mini me, Tamarah has taken over N.E.C. Style to give you guys some Memorial Day fashion tips.

Take it away Tamarah....(bag over shoulder and throwing my duce's up)

Today is Memorial Day. In addition to being an important day of remembrance for those who served in the military also is the unofficial start of the Summer season.   Summer may not officially start until June 21st  ,but there is no better time than now to start to thinking about summer wear.   If you need a little help in this department than you’ve come to right place.  Check out some of my favorite finds below that are sure to be part of your summer wardrobe.
1.       Hats

A great sun hat is the perfect accessory whether you are chilling by the pool or on the beach.

2.       Sunglasses

You can’t go wrong with a great pair of go-to Sunnies or two.

3.       Sundresses

Sundresses are a great option to wear to the next Summer party, or BBQ and any other chosen event.

4.       Rompers

Rompers are great casual look that you can rock during the day or night.

5.       Swimsuits

Whether you like one-piece, bikini or even a swim dress pick out your favorite style before you head out on your vacation or staycation.

6.       Shorts

As the temperatures rises, shorts will be worn to several different events and occasions.  Find the style and length you are most comfortable with and rock them.

7.   Cover ups

Lastly, on the list are cover ups.  Before you hit the water you can wear your favorite style of cover up.  You can also wear your preferred cover up at your next pool party.

With any luck your wardrobe will be more than ready for any event on your calendar this Summer.
