THOM BROWNE PRE FALL 2016 COLLECTION

If your have followed my blog for a bit you know this is one of my fave menswear designer.  I was excited to go through these photos and see what this in your favorite designer has planned for women this Fall.

Thom Browne, veteran Menswear designer, has released his Fall 2016 collection.  The collection has been viewed as "Vintage & Sporty".  I agree with this but I also felt it has a 1920's college all womens prep school feel to it.

With Color block heels, dog shaped bags, beaver fur and plastic patent leather this collection made me swoon. Colors stay true to the American designer red white and blue stripe through the collection.  Lots of layers, menswear feel, and hourglass silhouettes were all throughout the collection. According to Browne this collection is light on formal ambition but strong in pep.

As always, please understand that this designer doesn't create everything is not for ready to wear.  Its like walking art when he creates.  I cant wait to see more of is collection.  Here are a few more photos from the collection.

4 WAYS TO REACH "STYLISTA" STATUS

The road to being a stylish is not always easy. Fashion magazines, celebrities even other style bloggers can lead you down the wrong path into the dreaded land of  "TRENDY" (DA-DA-DON)
Don't worry...mamma Nant. is here for my Stylistas.
As you guys may have notice, I call the people who read my blog "Stylistas".  I don't like the word "FANS" (I am no one to have fans). I like "stylistas" because you are stylish or on you way to becoming stylish. For those of you who are already stlyish., use this as a check point.  For the girls with closets FILLED with clothing never to be worn and not sure of you stylista status....here is a quick way to know your Stylist Status.

1. DISCOVER your fifteen
THE FIFTEEN are 15 items in your closet that you CAN NOT live without. People tend to wear 15 key items the most out of all the other items in there closet.  The rest complement the 15 so it doesn't seem like they are wearing the same stagnant items (even though they are). Stylistas know there 15 and spend quality money on those items.  It maybe your classic black leather jacket (that's me!!!) or a pair of comfortable yet stylish heels. Every Stylista knows her fifteen .

2. NEVER and I do mean NEVER wear things that don't fit.
In my younger years, I wore things that were too big in order to be the dreaded TRENDY (DA-DA DON).  I still remembering my baggy pant of 1993....shutter. Now I cant imagine putting on something too large or for that matter too small. A Stylistas knows how things should fit her body and has a tailor on hand who can hem, take in a waist or take it out without ruining the fabric.  I love my tailor and known him for over 10 yrs.  I've even eaten with his family as I waited for a skirt to be taken in and picked up a love for Rugby.

What about if  I fluctuate in weight?
No problem.  You just need two sets of THE FIFTEEN.  One for your heaviest and lighter weight.  Don't let weight stop you from being Stylish.
REMEMBER... "Live your life at any size!!!"

3. ALWAYS take care of you clothing
Remember when moms had you change out your school clothes and hang them up to "air out"? Consider that your first Stylista lesson. (THANKS MOM!!!!)
Airing your garments before putting them away is a great way to protect your garments.

Come home, take off your heels and  toss them in a corner...NEVER
Take off your dress and let it fall to the floor UMMMM.....NO!!!

Stylista's take pride in your garments because she knows their worth.  Plus, would anything you care about be on the floor  (CHILD PLEASE)

4. NEVER follow Trends because well....its a Trend!
In the world of trend report, social media and being in one day and out the next, Stylista's doesn't waist their  hard earned cash on Trends.
I'm not saying she doesn't wear trends..she just doesn't spend loads of money on it.  Tends are what the H&M/Zarah of the world is for.  Low cost trendy items that we can wear for a season are a great way to try a trend and see if it works in your closet.    (I just wish more of us understood that).

"Dresses for yourself...not anyone else"

Now that you know your way to stylista status, I hope your ready for this stylish fall fashion N.E.C. Style is about to give you.
I KNOW I AM!!!

MY SOLUTION TO SUMMER CHAFING

CHAFING, CHUB RUB, THE BURN...whatever you call it its a problem for most women. I use to think it was only a problem for the plus size women but I've learned that most women suffer from some kind of chafing in the summer. Rather its between the legs, under the bust or the bikini area, chafing is suffered by a large amount of women.

O know this can be an embarrassing subject to talk about but is something I've had to deal with and know women are looking for simple solutions.  I've dealt with this my WHOLE life so does that make me an expert? Maybe.  For so many years I didn't know how to combat chaffing issues and still have some reminder scars of when I didn't take care of my skin.  I hope by sharing my tips I help someone else prevent the pain and scars that I went through so they don't have to.

There are three things to remember when dealing with Chafing:
 PREVENTION, TREATMENT & PROTECTION

Prevention
Most of the blog and articles I see talk mostly about prevention  products so I won't touch too much on this.
For me, I like to use deodorant or powder

As a plus size kid, powder was a huge part of my daily routine. (I should have taken stock in baby powder with the amount I used as a kid.) Powder helped to cool and keep the skin dry so chaffing didn't happen. The problem was that it would get on my clothes and all over the floor.

As an adult,  I use/love the Monistat Powder Gel. It's not thick and not so greasy so its perfect. This is new to my list but this product is really good if your use to powder.

A nice solid deodorant stick was my go too for inner thigh chafing.   Not only does it allow you to stay dry but also release a great smell.  The only downfall was that it could leave white residue on your clothes (like most deodorant).  Recently I switch to  Degree Dry Spray.  Its quicker, cleaner and has different scents that release extra protection when you sweat. PLUS, no white residue.

Treatment
Once chafing has happened it is IMPORTANT to go through the process of treatment. It can leads to more skin problems and even infection.
You should clean the area first then apply an ointment.

At www.top10homeremedies.com I found a few natural products to help sooth chafing.

Another choice is diaper rash cream.   I have used A+D Zinc Oxide cream but my new love is Monkey Butt Ointment.  It has a nice smell and is not thick.

3. Protection
The best protection is to keep the skin from rubbing anymore while it heals.

For breast,  I use Bra lines.  They can wrap around you and snap like your bra or can attach to your bra.

For thighs,  you have a choice of  shorts (microfiber is the best fabric choice) or fabric band

If your like me and find shorts to be too warm or bulky, fabric band is the way to go.  My favorite brand is Bandalettes.  Ranging in size from 2-24, from lace or microfiber, from white to flesh tone (even for darker skin).  These bands are the best and do not roll down like other.  They are super light and cant be seen (even under body con dresses).

These tips are not only for summer but all year long. I hope this was helpful to you all.

FULL FIGURED FASHION WEEK 2016 OUT FIT 2 "THE BIRDS"

Today was such a full day.  With the "Fit for Me" bloggers event, then the Fashion Week Press event and finally Marlyn Waynne blogger event I am so SO tired.
But I wanted my outfit to last through the day and stay fresh.  It was a bit chilly in nyc so I paired a skater skirt with matching top and a cape jacket.

For accessories I kept it simple with a statement necklace and small stud earrings.

You guys know I can't go anywhere without my shades so broke out my 1/2 rim shades to complete the look.

hen running from venue to venue my shoes have to be comfortable.  I decided to wear jeweled flats that matched my shirt color to complete the look

OOTD: TWO PIECE SWIMSUIT

Hey my Stylistas

I attended The Golden Confidence Pool Party and had a good time but also has a first for me.

Last year I attended the event I wore a one piece swimsuit but didn't take off my cover-up.

This year, I decided to go with a sheer jumper with a two piece suit.

My top was a razor back which was perfect for my high waist frame and kept me supported.

I'm sorry that I didn't have a chance to take as many pictures and give you guys more of my suit.  It really was a pretty suit just waiting to get wet.  But through my extra long wait to get to the pool section and bad planning on my part I only have theses pictures.

ACCESSORY TRENDS FOR SUMMER 2016

Now that summer has officially started, your jackets are off and your accessories will show more.
If your not sure what's hot for summer '16 don't worry, I got your covered. From the top of your head to the sole of your feat when it comes to accessories for summer 16.

Crowns & Head Wraps

Rather it was all the crowns being rocked on the MB Fashion week or "Snap Chat", we will not get away from head bands, crowns or bandanas
Floral crowns are HUGE not only in trend but in size.  Sizes range from small blossom on a vine to large roses set on top of the head.
Patterns for bandanas range from the ultra feminine to floral or metallic.
My fave trends are crowns set in the top of the head,  A thorny metal rose gold crown may make its way into my ETSY bag this seasons.

EARRINGS

For earrings think color and bold.  Over size and vibrant colors makes you look like your ears are dripping with color.  Rather its leather, metal or fabric the trend is authentic and industrial. Also paper (yes paper) earrings are a huge trends as they break down and can be recycled and doesn't cause harm to the environment.

ADORN YOUR NECK

With the influx of of the cold shoulder and flamingo like ruffles the neck is open and ready to be adorned.  With this trend comes collar bone necklace, chokers and extreme long necklace. Metal necklaces are industrial/hammered or multi layered.
My fave trend in necklaces is chokers.  Chokers remind me of the late 90's and is a great throw back to earlier years.

BODY ARMOUR

Body chains have been around for a while but this summer the chains are thicker and larger in size

Arm Candy

Bracelets trends are done in two ways.  Rather one large piece or several small pieces layered together to create a large piece.  No matter what you do remember to get a leather cuff (another trend from the late 90's)
My fave trend are the statement bracelets.  Having a message stamped into a metal bracelet says a lot about my personality and who I am.

SUMMER WEEKEND TRAVEL PACKING W. HOMEAWAY

Memorial Day is next week and with that comes the beginning of summer & my weekend getaways.
Most of my styling/blogging is done on the weekends but summer time gives me a few weeks to plan trips with the family.

My mini me and I live in an apartment so staying in a small hotel room is really not the experience want us to have when we go away. Rather its the Jersey Shore, Long Island or VA, I like to stay in homes instead of hotels. With the help of "Home Away" I find the perfect place!!!

HOMEAWAY gives you the opportunity to find homes, instead of hotels, in cities around the US and abroad.  I may spend more then a hotel but I don't have to worry about food(I have a kitchen) or being on top of each other.  Plus my experiences feel more authentic.

With my destination and weekend home booked, the next tackle is my weekend bag.   I always pack light for weekends so not to stress about what to wear.  Packing light is not easy so remember to pack essentials.  To help my fellow stylistas I'm listing my PERSONAL weekend getaway travel bag essentials. Not only are the items trendy but the foundation of what you will need for vacation.
