DESIGNER CHARNAE & RAW HANDBAG

"I have always wanted to be a designer since I was a little girl and although I took a different path in college I never lost sight of my passion and dream."-Charnae', designer and owner of RAWH

I first came across RAW Handbag designer while at a shopping event geared towards women.  I instantly gravitated to the images of black women  women with unapologetic black hair!!  From that day forward I have cultivated a relationship with Charnae, the designer of RAW.

Here is more information and photos on the brand I have fallen for...

Charnae describes RAW Handbags as "unique, handmade handbags that are guaranteed to make a statement and compliment your wardrobe. RAWH are designed for ALL women to; “Wear fearlessly, Spread womanhood and Inspire other women to be phenomenal.”

Charnae started RAW after years of working in a career she did not like.  She dreamed of working in fashion and designing.  At that time, she was more into social norms of success.  She couldn't continue doing something she didn't love and decided to follow her passion and dreams to make her happy.

RAW was created to help women.  RAW stands for Recognize A Woman. Her main reason for creating these handbags was to to empower, uplift and motivate women through fashion. How could I not love a brand that is made for women by a women with a message like this.

Here are some bags I am loving:

3RD ANUAL ESSENCE STREET STYLE FESTIVAL

Nearly 10,000 stylist people flooded the Essence Style Block Party during NYFW in Brooklyn.   Thousands of real women and men with real size showed the world how we celibate style everyday.
The Essence Street Style Block Party was a day-long extravaganza filled with music, fashion, art, shopping and food
But the best part of this event was not appearance by actress Zendaya Coleman, a Street Style fashion show co-hosted by actress Naturi Naughton or the incredible performance by R&B singer Ayo Jay. The best was the fashion and style I saw.
Here are some photos of men and women of all size, shapes race and color giving style style.

THOM BROWNE PRE FALL 2016 COLLECTION

If your have followed my blog for a bit you know this is one of my fave menswear designer.  I was excited to go through these photos and see what this in your favorite designer has planned for women this Fall.

Thom Browne, veteran Menswear designer, has released his Fall 2016 collection.  The collection has been viewed as "Vintage & Sporty".  I agree with this but I also felt it has a 1920's college all womens prep school feel to it.

With Color block heels, dog shaped bags, beaver fur and plastic patent leather this collection made me swoon. Colors stay true to the American designer red white and blue stripe through the collection.  Lots of layers, menswear feel, and hourglass silhouettes were all throughout the collection. According to Browne this collection is light on formal ambition but strong in pep.

As always, please understand that this designer doesn't create everything is not for ready to wear.  Its like walking art when he creates.  I cant wait to see more of is collection.  Here are a few more photos from the collection.

MY SOLUTION TO SUMMER CHAFING

CHAFING, CHUB RUB, THE BURN...whatever you call it its a problem for most women. I use to think it was only a problem for the plus size women but I've learned that most women suffer from some kind of chafing in the summer. Rather its between the legs, under the bust or the bikini area, chafing is suffered by a large amount of women.

O know this can be an embarrassing subject to talk about but is something I've had to deal with and know women are looking for simple solutions.  I've dealt with this my WHOLE life so does that make me an expert? Maybe.  For so many years I didn't know how to combat chaffing issues and still have some reminder scars of when I didn't take care of my skin.  I hope by sharing my tips I help someone else prevent the pain and scars that I went through so they don't have to.

There are three things to remember when dealing with Chafing:
 PREVENTION, TREATMENT & PROTECTION

Prevention
Most of the blog and articles I see talk mostly about prevention  products so I won't touch too much on this.
For me, I like to use deodorant or powder

As a plus size kid, powder was a huge part of my daily routine. (I should have taken stock in baby powder with the amount I used as a kid.) Powder helped to cool and keep the skin dry so chaffing didn't happen. The problem was that it would get on my clothes and all over the floor.

As an adult,  I use/love the Monistat Powder Gel. It's not thick and not so greasy so its perfect. This is new to my list but this product is really good if your use to powder.

A nice solid deodorant stick was my go too for inner thigh chafing.   Not only does it allow you to stay dry but also release a great smell.  The only downfall was that it could leave white residue on your clothes (like most deodorant).  Recently I switch to  Degree Dry Spray.  Its quicker, cleaner and has different scents that release extra protection when you sweat. PLUS, no white residue.

Treatment
Once chafing has happened it is IMPORTANT to go through the process of treatment. It can leads to more skin problems and even infection.
You should clean the area first then apply an ointment.

At www.top10homeremedies.com I found a few natural products to help sooth chafing.

Another choice is diaper rash cream.   I have used A+D Zinc Oxide cream but my new love is Monkey Butt Ointment.  It has a nice smell and is not thick.

3. Protection
The best protection is to keep the skin from rubbing anymore while it heals.

For breast,  I use Bra lines.  They can wrap around you and snap like your bra or can attach to your bra.

For thighs,  you have a choice of  shorts (microfiber is the best fabric choice) or fabric band

If your like me and find shorts to be too warm or bulky, fabric band is the way to go.  My favorite brand is Bandalettes.  Ranging in size from 2-24, from lace or microfiber, from white to flesh tone (even for darker skin).  These bands are the best and do not roll down like other.  They are super light and cant be seen (even under body con dresses).

These tips are not only for summer but all year long. I hope this was helpful to you all.

Time to Style!

Just this term in school, I have already started my practicum and as an intern to a more corporate world, formal dress-up is a must. What matters most is we always have to be aware of the time. In any thing that we do, we must all be time conscious.
