N.E.C. Style Homemade Hot Cocoa
Ingredients
- 2 Hershey Milk Chocolate Bars
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ⅓ cup hot water
- ⅛ tsp salt
- 4 cups milk (Dairy or non-dairy)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped Cream to top
- Nutmeg
- Cinnamon
Instructions
- Melt Chocolate bar in microwave
- Combine the chocolate, sugar, water, and salt in a medium saucepan.
- Over medium heat, stir constantly until the mixture simmers. Cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
- Stir in the milk and heat, but do not boil.
- Remove from the heat and add vanilla; stir well. .
- Top with Cream, shake ground cinnamon and nutmeg on top. Serve immediately
Additions
Grown-up Flava: Add some Kahlua or peppermint flavored Delete repeated word
Want some Spice: Add some chili powder to step 2
